"Social Distance"
All of us…

Keeping our social distance –
Desperately attempting
to avoid each other,
in every possible instance.

Locked up,
hunkered down,
no co-workers or friends
anywhere to be found.

Courageous first responders,
rushing toward a precarious front line –
Doctors, nurses, and health-care professionals;
the self-sacrificing heroic soldiers
protecting us this time.

Selfless commitment and dedication,
with ruthless intention and undaunting nerve –
At times completely unprotected;
Without the necessary resources
they so desperately deserve.

Attempting to prepare
for an unknown apex...
No one really certain,
exactly what will happen next.

In these times of darkness and despair
We must join together and turn on the light –
Now, is the most important opportunity
for all Americans to do what’s right.

Stay brave,
Stay loving,
Stay focused,
Stay free…

Stay fearless and strong –
midst an unseen enemy.

The opaqueness of fear is never endless;
The purifying sun will one day shine again –
We will then be even stronger Americans,
with greater appreciation for our family and friends.
