REALITY: A Poetic Reflection
Poets know only one thing with complete certainty: Poetry is not a cash cow. No one writes poetry for the money. Writing poetry is an attempt to scratch an itch that can't be reached. To find a way to somehow express and communicate a highly complex idea or situation in the most efficient, effective, and creative way possible using only language. It is the hopeless obsession with communicating your understanding of "what's real" to a complete stranger.
Risky business indeed.
These twelve visual poems, along with text and commentary, were selected to give you at least a partial glimpse into my reality, and perhaps to a certain extent, your own. A poet can only hope.A word about visual poetry...
The idea of visual poetry, merging words and images into one unifying theme or idea, was a way to combine and enhance both art forms. The poetry adds to the meaning of the image, just as the image adds to the meaning of the poetry. A perfect creative symbiosis. (PDF for All Devices)
