Indirect methods are needed to secure victory.
Direct attacks deplete energy,
leaving an army exhausted after the campaign.
Indirect tactics are inexhaustible,
providing endless exploitation.
The possible combinations flowing
from direct and indirect tactics are endless –
Allowing for an infinite series of maneuvers.
The yin and yang of strategy,
they provide a doorway
to the ten thousand things.
Actuality depends on decision.

Individual energy is magnified
when joined together.
Therefore, the strength of an army
has a greater momentum –
Becoming a force of nature
more powerful than simple
human endeavor.
A well trained,
well disciplined,
well led army,
attacks an enemy with
the energy of a waterfall –
