"The Ground Element"Strategy is the essential craft of the warrior –
Yet what warrior alive today
can claim mastery of the true way?
Strategy is not the only way.
It does not contend with the way of Buddha,
nor compete with the way of Confucius.
My way does not argue against the way of healing,
or subjugate the need for doctors.
The way of strategy denies not the skill of archery,
nor diminishes the art of calligraphy.
It embraces both the warrior poet,
and the sacred ceremony of tea.
For each individual is called
to their unique destiny –
Therefore, the way of strategy
accepts everything
and rejects nothing.
The warrior’s way
is a two-fold path –
Always balanced
between pen and sword.
The grounding of a warrior,
lies in their complete
resolute acceptance
of death.
