Once,
I was responsible for TEACHING students…
and they learned things:

To read and write,
to talk, not fight.
To stop and think
things through,
to consider
other people –
like you.

To know Who, Why, 
Where, and When –
What's happening Now, 
and what happened Then.

To build a fence of evidence
around arguments and claims –
To move into adulthood,
and abandon Childish Games.

To encourage independence,
a sense of individuality –
And even dare to make them aware
of potential new Realities.
