and sharp thirsty cacti –
Tranquil desert oasis
in the Valley of the Vineyards.

I wait for sunset, 
anticipating its long overdue forgiveness –
Eclipsing this stark
searing summer heat.

She swims,
like a fish –
Thrown back into a pond,
happy to be home again.
