An enduring legacy of family and friends.

At 7200 Syracuse –
Where the road for the weary came to an end.

A fresh pot of coffee, a card game or two –
Good conversation, always waiting for you.
A porch with a swing, for jawboning all day –
With whoever stopped by with something to say.
Little time for stress, little time for worry –
A place to avoid, for those in a hurry.

Where possibility stood firmly
on the unsteady edge of perception –
Offering a view of reality,
with a slight glimpse of perfection.

Life always felt worth living,
even when you had the blues –
In the sanctuary of my parents’ giving,
at 7200 Syracuse.
