Cats Are Nuttier Than Fruitcakes

Cats are nuttier than fruitcakes!
This is certainly true.
Fruitcakes are known for being extremely nutty –
Cats, like fruitcakes, are exceedingly nutty too!
 
They whine,
they beg,
they rub against your ankle.
But when you try to pet them,
they walk away
In a distasteful sway –
Unappreciative,
and unthankful.
 
They meow,
they howl,
they yowl like ravenous beasts!
When only minutes earlier,
they did the same,
yet still remain.
After devouring
numerous treats!
 
They hop,
they skip
they leap, they vault, they jump!
Spawning disorderly chaos,
Knocking everything down
crashing into the ground.
With a massive bump,
or a booming thump!
 
So, cats are nuttier than fruitcakes!
I hope by now you see.
Yet, they’re also cuddly and comforting –
Like a warm slice of fruitcake,
fresh from the oven.
