Remembering Christmas... 

Everything glistening red, gold and green!
The magic of all hoped for,
alive in the moment of possibility.

This winter...
I see more of the blue in Christmas.
Each year a few less family and friends,
a melancholy – bittersweet holiday.

Still, I look forward to the Season...
Bewildered child-like faith of a long lost spirit. 
The miracle of cookie crumbs and disappearing milk –
presents you really wanted under the tree.

How I long to embrace that lofty reunion...
of love, hope, and flying reindeer!
Yet somehow it’s never quite the same,
once you’ve stopped believing in Santa Claus.
