"I'd Choose To Be A Bush"
A good man died today –
His greatness sprang from his
character and decency…

A most amazing legacy.

Gracious and forgiving;
The preeminent act in his daily living.
Dedicated to his Nation,
his family and his wife –
He held himself with dignity
and carried that integrity
all throughout his entire life.

A chip-off-the-old-block of his father,
president forty-one,
a question was once posed
to his proud and deferential son:

What kind of tree would you choose to be,
If you could choose to be any tree?”
With deep respect his eldest replied,
long before his father died:

Responding to the question with a courteous “shush!”…
“If ‘anything’ I could choose to be,
I wouldn’t choose to be a tree…
I’d choose be a Bush!
