in the City on the Hill.
Some claim we’ve lost our discipline,
some assert we’ve lost our will.
Some bellow that our time is over,
all great nations must decline.
Others roar of revolution –
George Orwell’s warnings comes to mind.
And though, like all, we’ve made mistakes,
and done our share of wrong –
When all is sadly done and said,
and America is finally dead…
I think the world will miss us
when we’re gone.
